South JRPC Coach and Manager Vacancies 2016

SCHA is working in partnership with England Hockey to develop and manage three Junior Regional Performance Centres (JRPC). Each JRPC will be led by a Centre Director appointed by SCHA. We are seeking to appoint lead and assistant coaches/managers for the three South-managed JRPCs for 2016 in Haslemere, Tonbridge and Oxford.

At each centre there will be eight squads (four boys' and four girls'). Each of which will have a lead coach and an appropriate number of assistant coaches. There will be a goalkeeper coach for each double age group. It is expected that each centre will have two managers to assist with the administration and supervision of squads especially during lunchtimes and between on-field sessions. We are also able to consider people for the role of a supply coach to cover sessions when we need extra resources.

The roles and responsibilities and the dates of the JRPC regional sessions are outlined below. These roles should be seen as part of the coach's or manager's own development as well as the players. Posts will be subject to an enhanced DBS check through EH, and those appointed will normally be expected to arrange this through their own club/county. Candidates also require current First Aid and Safeguarding Certificates. Lead Coaches must hold a Level 2 Coaching award or equivalent.

All JRPC staff will be expected to attend an evening training/induction evening prior to the Regional sessions, with details to be confirmed.

JRPC regional sessions will be on the following dates for both boys and girls.

  U15/16 (2002, 2001) U17/18 (2000,1999)
Sunday June 19 Saturday June 18

Sunday July 10 Saturday July 09

Wednesday August 24

Thursday August 25

Monday August 22

Tuesday August 23

Saturday September 03 Sunday September 04

On each day 4 hours of coaching is to be provided. Other than in exceptional circumstances, it is expected that coaches will attend all of these days.

Tier 1 competition sessions will be at venues other than the training venue. It is expected that lead coaches and one other assistant/manager per squad will attend these. These are on:

Sunday September 25

Payment: Payment will be according to the national guidelines. These have not yet been set for 2016.
