Welcome to the South Junior Hockey Section


The aims of the South Junior Committee are to promote, develop and encourage all aspects of hockey for young people/children in Schools and Clubs within Counties affiliated to the South Hockey Region.

It shall represent the interests and views of the Southern Counties Hockey Association (SCHA) and its members to the other Regional Hockey Associations and to the National Governing Body (England Hockey).

The junior committee organises:

  •   regional rounds of School Competitions
  •   regional rounds of Club Indoor and In2Hockey
  •   the South AC Tournament

The Perdformance Centres within the South are organised by a co-ordinator who reports to the main management committee.

The review of the junior competiton has been completed, EH have issued plans to introduce a Tiered event startin in September 2018. Fuller details are on the Schools' Page.

EH have a non-committal survey running prior to the entries being opened to determine which events schools think that they are likely to enter. All schools are encouraged to complete it.

 


 

South News

Mike Taylor It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mike Taylor on 30 August. He was a lifetime stalwart of local and national hockey. Amongst his many roles he was Treasurer of Trojans HC, Treasurer of the former men's national Hockey Association and our Treasurer for many years until his retirement in June. His genial presence will be sorely missed. His funeral is at 11:45 on 28 September at the Basingstoke Crematorium.

Mike Ward Our Chairman Mike Ward has recently been awarded the EH Long Service Award, currently he also chairs Dorset Men's Competition Committee, Hampshire HA and South Men's League and is a member of EH's Constitution and Regulations Committee. Full report.
